I have a Holton TR 183 Bass Trombone for sale. The serial is 544XXX (1977). The Holton line of bass trombones was developed by Allen Ostrander and George Roberts. Specifcally, the 183 is George Roberts’ brain child. Sporting a 9 inch red brass bell, this horn gets a great, warm sound with tons of responsiveness.
To be honest, I’m not a Holton guy. However, when I tried this horn out, I considered not selling it…. It plays amazing… The Nickel slide with the yellow brass crook work well with the bell. The valve section is also open blowing. Can’t really say I have a problem with this horn. The slide isn’t perfect (7/10) but it plays like a dream. No case included.
